Terms of Service
The agreement between you and GROOWING CO., LTD when you use GrooEdu. The two clauses worth reading first are clause 3 — what an AI-estimated band is and is not — and clause 4, on our not being affiliated with anyone.

The Vietnamese version is the binding one. This English translation is provided for convenience; where the two differ, the Vietnamese text applies.
1. Who these terms are with
GrooEdu is operated by GROOWING CO., LTD(“we”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
Contact: support@grooedu.com.
2. What the service is
Practice for IELTS Academic Speaking and Writing: you answer under conditions close to the exam room, software marks what you produce against the four official criteria for that part, and returns an estimated band with feedback. Teachers can set work for a class and see what their students hand in.
We may change, add to or withdraw a feature. If we withdraw something you have paid for, clause 7 applies.
3. What an AI-estimated band is — and is not
Our marking is an estimate produced by software. It is not an assessment by a certified IELTS examiner, and it does not predict the band you would be given in a real test.
We follow the published band descriptors and try to keep the marking consistent, but it can still be wrong — generous with one answer and hard on the next. Two answers of equal quality may not receive the same band. Treat this as feedback that points at what to work on, not as a result.
Nothing on this site is an official IELTS score, a prediction of one, or a substitute for sitting the test. Do not rely on it to decide anything — a visa or immigration application, an application to a university or an employer, or whether you are ready to book a test. We are not responsible for decisions made on the strength of an estimate we produced.
The Speaking marking includes automatic pronunciation assessment, and that depends on whether your recording can be heard clearly. Background noise, a poor microphone or an answer that is too short all affect the result.
4. We are not affiliated with IELTS or its owners
GrooEdu is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by or otherwise connected to the owners of IELTS — the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, or Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
IELTS is their registered trade mark. We name it only to describe which exam our practice material prepares you for — honest descriptive use, not a claim of licence or approval. Every practice paper on this site is written by us; none of it is a past paper and none of it is official material.
5. Your account
You need an account for your work to be marked. You sign in with Google. Keep that Google account secure — whoever can get into it can get into yours.
One account is for one person. Do not share it, do not sell it, and do not let somebody else spend your credits.
If you are under 16, you need a parent or guardian to agree to your using GrooEdu and to set the account up with you. By creating an account for someone under 16, you confirm that you are their parent or guardian and you agree to these terms on their behalf. We do not verify age at signup, so this is a rule we ask you to keep rather than one the software currently enforces.
You can delete your account yourself at any time, from the account page. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone: see the Privacy Policy for what goes with it.
6. Credits, and what they buy
Marking is paid for in credits, priced against what it actually costs to run: 1 credits for one Writing task and 5 credits for one Speaking part. A full Writing paper is two tasks; a full Speaking test is three parts.
- Signing up grants 20 credits, once only. They last 30 days.
- A plan grants its credits once, the moment you pay. They live exactly as long as the plan — 30 days or 90 days.
- If you buy a new plan while the old one still has time on it, unspent credits carry forward: their expiry moves to the end of the new period. Credits that have already expired are not restored.
Credits have no cash value, cannot be moved between accounts, and are not refunded as money once spent. Running out does not stop you practising: you can still answer, and your work is kept so it can be marked when you have credits.
If marking fails through a fault of ours, the credits are returned automatically. If you find you were charged for a marking you never received, tell us.
7. Paying, and stopping
You pay by domestic bank transfer, into GROOWING CO., LTD's own account, and we sell to you directly — no reseller in between. No card is involved at any point, so no card details are held by us or by anyone on our behalf. Our payment partner watches that account and reports the amount, the transfer description and when the money arrived; that is what opens your plan.
A plan is a one-off purchase for a fixed period. It does not renew itself, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing is ever charged again unless you transfer it yourself. When the period ends, Premium ends. See Refunds and cancellation.
8. Your work stays yours
The essays you write and the recordings you make are yours. You keep every right in them.
You give us exactly the permission needed to run the service on them: to store them, to send them to the providers that do the marking, to show them back to you, and to show work you hand in for a teacher's assignment to that teacher. Nothing beyond that. We do not publish your work, we do not use it in advertising, and we do not use it to train models.
9. Our material stays ours
The practice papers, cue cards, charts, examiner audio, marking prompts, software and design are ours or our licensors'. You may use them to practise. You may not copy, redistribute, publish or resell them, scrape this site, or use any part of it to build or train a competing product or model.
Automated access beyond ordinary use of the site is not permitted without our written agreement.
10. Using the service properly
You must not:
- submit unlawful content, or submit somebody else's work as your own for marking;
- submit a recording of a person who has not agreed to being recorded;
- attempt to break, overload or work around the service's limits and access rules;
- use the service to harass anyone, including students or teachers in a class with you.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where we can, we will say why first.
11. Availability
We try to keep GrooEdu running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The service depends on parties we do not control, and the marking in particular depends on providers that can be slow or stop serving. We may take it down for maintenance.
12. Limits on our liability
The service is provided as it stands. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including exam results, lost opportunities, or costs incurred through relying on an estimate we produced (see clause 3).
Where liability cannot be excluded, ours is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
13. Ending
You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may end your access if you breach these terms, or on reasonable notice if we withdraw the service — in which case we refund the paid time you have not used.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and we will email account holders before a change that materially reduces your rights takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, and the courts of Vietnam have jurisdiction, unless consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
